President’s Message
It is indeed a great honor and privilege for me to serve as the President of UPAA-USA for 2024-2025. I’m so excited to work with a team of highly qualified and dedicated executive committee members to further expand the membership and activities of UPAA-USA, a registered non-profit entity.
According to unofficial records, there are over 6000 Pera alumni spread across the United States, engaged in diverse professional careers, post-graduate studies, or enjoying their life as retirees. As former students of the University of Peradeniya, we had the privilege of pursuing a well-rounded tertiary education at the largest and the most beautiful university in Sri Lanka, enabling us to acquire valuable knowledge and skills to become responsible global citizens. UPAA-USA provides us with a unique opportunity to network with fellow alumni, and give back to our alma mater.
I wish to encourage all Pera alumni and past staff members living in the United States to become members of UPAA-USA, which will enable you to reconnect with old friends, attend annual alumni gatherings and other social events, mentor undergraduate students, and actively contribute towards fundraising events to implement meaningful projects that would benefit our university and its current student population.
I wish to express my sincere appreciations and gratitude to the founder members of UPAA-USA, whose dedication and support has led to the establishment and continuous growth of our alumni association. I’m deeply committed to serve UPAA-USA to the best of my ability.
